An 1800’s
Invention Improves Cleaning Equipment Fuel Savings, Efficiency,
and Your Business’ Marketing Chemistry
May 1st, 2008. David

It’s true. We’ve had the answer all along.
We’ve looked right past the obvious. While
reading about bio-fuel, thinking about a Hybrid, or searching for
a station with gas for a few cents less, it's been right under us.
We've tried coupons; tried the "three room
carpet cleaning special" with not so much success. We
didn’t find the customer we really wanted. You know the
customer. The one with surfaces needing our professional care and
attention, and near to our home. And, always more than just a
customer. They’re the reason we enjoy cleaning, and got into the
business.
And, no the invention is not my favorite Tequila
added to your carpet pre-conditioner.
It’s more obvious. And being it's May,
National Bike Month, well, you guessed it.
Yes. I’m suggesting biking.
So, here are the reasons why you might not
want to buy another new cleaning tool from MMS this Spring, and
instead go to your local bike shop and invest $300 in a quality
bicycle.
This
is lived experience. Not a marketing job, so read on.
First, get a quality bike. It’s like a quality
Prochem truck mount. It gets noticed. And, it's easier to use, and
more reliable.
Imagine biking every nice day. Make it easy. Try
a commute to the office, head up to the store, or around the
neighborhood. Make it fun, and stretch some too. Go ahead, feel
like a kid. It’s okay. Try doing it a few times a week. Find a
favorite ride. My favorite is after a summer rain. What a smell of
clean.
Ride what was always previously done by car.
Guess what? You are looking better all the
sudden, and having more energy. And, having met a few successful
cleaning professionals, you’ve noticed they always look good and
have energy and enthusiasm. What? It wasn’t the coffee.
And more payoff. The power of persistence,
coupled with the openness of biking and people are noticing you
and saying hello. This I so love. Never did this happen at the gas
pump, or while waiting at the red light. All the sudden,
prospects from the neighborhood are saying hello to you. And, you
are saying hello to the owner of the home or business within
biking distance to your home and work.
And, imagine missing out on needing to fill up
at the gas station for $4 a gallon gas.
It’s more than imagination, and no new
technology or chemistry is needed.
It's green marketing. It's fun. It's May. And,
what a great time to meet the neighbors and leave the van or car
keys in the closet.
Always be alert and think safety. Life is lived.
Business is fun. Your bike may become as valuable to your success
as that new rotary hard surface tool.
Happy Spring. And please, drop
me an e-mail and picture of you and your bike.
